Job Description

Position Overview

As a Senior Analyst on the Environmental Compliance & Strategy (ECS) team, you will support the execution of federal and state environmental permitting and compliance strategies to support the development, construction, and operation of Invenergy’s Grain Belt Express Transmission Project (Project).

Under supervision from experienced colleagues, you will coordinate with Project team members to perform environmental-related due diligence, planning, permitting, and compliance for Invenergy’s Grain Belt Express Transmission Project. In this capacity, you will coordinate day-to-day Project activities, including Subject Matter Expert reviews of project design changes, coordination with internal and external stakeholders, consultant trainings and contract administration, budget tracking, and file organization and maintenance. You will participate in Project meetings, track meeting outcomes, and follow up with responsible parties on action.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience with large-scale project information management, be an organized and collaborative self-starter with a keen attention to detail, and have the ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Support project design and siting through coordination with internal and external stakeholders and review of geospatial environmental data.

  • Support coordination with environmental consultants, which includes ensuring compliance with code of conduct trainings, reviewing work products, coordinating environmental reviews, and contract administration.

  • Assist in coordination between field-based survey teams and internal SMEs to ensure necessary communication and information sharing, track field crew progress, and data transfer and management.

  • Support the maintenance of a complete and organized project record to demonstrate compliance with federal and state wildlife regulations.

  • Track agency and tribal meetings and topics; ensure contact records are saved; track meeting outcomes and follow up with internal parties

  • Ensure internal project files are organized and complete

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of environmental policy, regulation and compliance that affect permitting and impacts on project siting and compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • 2+ years in major infrastructure or 4+ years in a similar industry with experience managing responsibilities similar to those listed above.

  • Experience supporting trained project managers with information management and process enforcement.

  • Experience with project management systems that document decision making, track action items, and establish processes for streamlining project execution.

  • Must be self-directed, with the ability and desire to work effectively in a team environment. Must be detail oriented, assuring documents and communications are concise and accurate.

  • Able to act and adapt to a fast-paced business environment with competing deadlines, and quickly learn and implement internal processes.

Preferred

  • Experience implementing federal and state environmental laws (e.g., ESA, CWA, BGEPA, NHPA, and NEPA), guidelines, and policies.

  • Ability to navigate ArcGIS and Google Earth to interpret environmental spatial data and identify potential project risks.

  • Experience developing long-distance, linear infrastructure projects in the Midwest regions of the U.S.

Salary Range

$80,000 - $93,000
