Fastly Senior Revenue Accountant in Denver, Colorado

We are looking for a proactive and highly motivated Senior Revenue Accountant to join our growing revenue accounting organization! Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting, the Senior Accountant will own many of the critical Revenue Accounting functions around Account Receivable, Revenue and Deferred Revenue accounting journals, account reconciliations and flux analyses. The Senior Revenue Accountant will assist with delivering accurate financial results in a high-growth, fast-paced environment, and will play a key role in helping to scale the Revenue Accounting functions.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead, prepare and manage all aspects of the monthly revenue close activities, including preparation of revenue, accounts receivable and deferred revenue related journal entries, reconciliations and flux analysis

  • Review customer contracts for non-standard terms and conditions that have billing and revenue implications and document the proper revenue accounting treatments

  • Perform SOX controls related to the billing and revenue area

  • Assist SEC Reporting team with 10Q/K footnotes and MD&A analysis

  • Serve as a key resource to deliver relevant, timely, and accurate financial reporting and support cross functional teams such as FP&A, Commissions and Financial Systems

  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and support during audits to ensure compliance with audit requirements

  • Help drive process and efficiency improvements to our month end close process and other accounting processes

  • Collaborate across the company to drive our revenue close and reporting process in accordance with US GAAP and support the research and analysis of technical issues

  • Key participant in OTC transformation project

  • Ad hoc projects and reporting

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting

  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience at a fast-growing public company

  • CPA is highly preferred

  • Public accounting experience (Big 4, Grant Thornton, BDO) is preferred

  • Knowledge of ASC 606 Revenue Accounting Guidance

  • Detail oriented, works independently, analytical and highly organized

  • Advanced skill level with Microsoft Excel, including creation and use of complex pivot tables, lookup functions, and other features for formatting, manipulating, and analyzing data.

  • Passionate about improvements and receptive to feedback

  • Ability to think strategically, build cross-functional relationships, and take initiative to drive results

We’ll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these:

  • Experience with NetSuite ARM, Floqast and G-Suite a plus

Work Hours:

  • This position will require you to be available during core business hours.

Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home.

Salary:

The estimated salary range for this position is $88,120 to $122,380.

Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
