Job Overview:
A Construction Specialist (Mechanical/Piping/Pipeline) Engineer needs a strong background in mechanical engineering, pipeline design, and materials science. They must also be well-versed in industry-specific codes, standards, and regulations. Effective communication and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to adapt to different environments, work with various teams, and ensure the safety and compliance of mechanical and piping systems and pipelines.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Design and Analysis: Collaborate with engineering teams to design mechanical systems, piping layouts, and pipelines. Perform structural and stress analysis to ensure designs meet safety and code compliance
Construction Oversight: Supervise and manage construction projects related to mechanical and piping systems, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and safety standards
Site Inspections: Conduct on-site inspections to monitor construction progress, quality control, and safety compliance for mechanical and piping installations. Inspect pipelines for integrity and compliance with industry standards
Project Management: Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources, coordinating with various teams and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
Materials and Quality Control: Oversee the selection and use of materials for mechanical and piping systems, including quality control measures to ensure compliance with standards and specifications
Code Compliance: Ensure that all mechanical systems, piping, and pipelines comply with relevant industry codes, regulations, and safety standards, such as ASME, API, and ANSI
Safety: Prioritize and enforce safety measures on construction sites and in operational facilities, conducting safety audits and ensuring the well-being of workers and the public
Environmental Considerations: Address environmental concerns, such as emissions, leaks, and spills, and implement environmentally friendly practices in pipeline and mechanical system operations
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of project activities, including drawings, inspection reports, maintenance records, and change orders
Client Interaction: Communicate with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities to address concerns, provide project updates, and ensure that project objectives and client expectations are met
Testing and Commissioning: Oversee the testing and commissioning of mechanical systems and pipelines, ensuring they function as designed and meet performance criteria
Maintenance and Repairs: Schedule and coordinate maintenance and repair activities for mechanical systems, piping, and pipelines to ensure continuous operation and safety
Pipeline Integrity: For pipeline field engineers, this includes conducting integrity assessments, inspections, and maintenance programs to ensure the safe and efficient operation of pipelines
Corrosion Control: For pipeline engineers, implement and oversee corrosion control measures to protect the integrity of pipelines
Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about and adhere to the latest industry standards and regulations, particularly in the context of pipeline safety, integrity management, and transportation regulations
Essential Qualifications and Education:
A bachelor’s degree in mechanical Engineering
10+Years experience
