FirstService Residential Loading Dock Supervisor (Temporary) in Downtown Austin, Texas

Job Overview:

The Dock Master will be responsible for the facilitation and maintenance of the Loading Dock. This position will also be responsible for managing building access for all contractors and vendors who need to enter the building to perform a service. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Your Responsibilities:

  • Management of the parking in loading dock area for control and facilitation of delivery and contractor vehicles.
  • Cleaning and maintenance of the dock floor area
  • Management of the loading dock building doors for operational hours
  • Coordination and management of delivery schedules for the dock office for residential and office use
  • Management of the dock office to include computer and janitorial service
  • Facilitation of the Master Association business at the dock
  • Facilitation, documentation and delivery of packages to appropriate entities at the project, i.e. Stream, TLC, retail tenants, and the lobby desk for all Tower residents
  • Building access facilitation for contractors and vendors

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education, Experience & Skills Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalency preferred. College level courses in business or hospitality preferred.

  • Experience/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Must be computer literate. Two (2) years general building/community security experience is strongly preferred. Strong customer service, communication, time management and interpersonal skills required. Effective verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner. Ability to work flexible hours as needed. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Special Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 30 – 50 lbs; Work in an upright standing or sitting position for long periods of time; Handle, finger, grasp and lift objects and packages; Reach with hands and arms; Ability to quickly and easily navigate the property/building as required to meet the job functions; Complete all required forms. Ability to work extended hours and weekends based on project requirement. Ability to respond to emergencies and callouts on a timely manner; Must be a team player.

  • Vision Requirements:

  • Constant need (66% to 100% of time) to document maintenance and complete forms, read cautionary labels, respond to written instructions from staff and home owners.

  • Frequent need (33% to 66% of time) to see things clearly beyond arm’s reach (observe problems throughout property.)

  • Hearing Requirements:

  • Constant need (66% to 100%of time) to communicate with residents, vendors, and on-site staff. Must have listening skills to diagnose needed repairs, etc.

  • Speaking Requirements:

  • Constant need (66% to 100% of time) to communicate verbally and in written format, receive and exchange ideas with residents, vendors, and staff.

Compensation: $24 / hour
