Why this job matters

The Procurement Manager is responsible for proactively driving a category strategy, identifying and realising opportunities to improve service standards and Total Cost of Ownership, as well as mitigating supply risks for the business. The Procurement Manager will also build and maintain strong partnership with internal and external stakeholders and ensure continuous alignment.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing category spend and performance, developing category plans and long term values, implement business improvements through optimising commercial, design and process levers that minimise the Total Cost of Ownership

  • Managing RFP process end-to-end for BT’s Engineering Field Services category: strategic sourcing, contract and pricing negotiations, supplier on-boarding, presenting award recommendation to board committee, all in line with BT governance, internal stakeholders needs and BT Sourced priorities

  • Leading on risk assessment of category strategy and sourcing activities

  • Negotiating commercial and contractual terms with key suppliers

  • Building and maintaining category knowledge, apply best practices around sourcing approach, supplier selection, total cost of ownership and negotiation tactics respecting strict timelimes

What are we looking for in our Procurement Manager? You may have a variety of the below;

  • We’re looking for someone that’s result orientated, ambitious, and passionate; attention to detail is key

  • Experience of delivering against targets as a Category Manager/Procurement Manager

  • Experience working within construction industry, or experience in labour procurement would be advantageous

  • Good business expertise in category management, particularly around supplier capabilities and commercial models required to deliver customer requirements

  • Ability to manage sometimes complex, strategic, and commercial requirements between BT and suppliers, and deliver projects and results on time and in full
