Moore County Hospital District Registered Nurse - Hospice (Part Time-Shift Varies) in Dumas, Texas

This is a Part Time Position. SUMMARY: This position is responsible for performing direct and indirect patient care for the hospice department. Understands and communicates the hospice philosophy of care. Position provides hospice nursing care and coordination within private homes, contracted nursing homes, and hospitals within the hospice department’s service area.  Incumbents communicate with physicians, nurses, patients, family members and all members of the interdisciplinary team regarding patient’s medical condition, response to treatment and/or interventions.  Delegates and supervises nursing tasks according to Texas law and departmental policy.  EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing preferred. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required.   Hospice, home care or acute care setting experience is preferred. LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Current Texas or compact RN license required.  Current/valid Texas Drivers License required. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Incumbents must complete hospice training class within 1st year of employment. Use of a dependable vehicle during all working hours with evidence of minimal liability insurance coverage is required.  Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, in English required.
