Senior Data Engineer

Position Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Data Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing data warehouse solutions for our financial data.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Design and develop data warehouse solutions for large and complex financial datasets

• Utilize industry-standard data warehousing practices and ETL/ELT methodologies

• Implement data quality automation and tooling to ensure data integrity

• Manage and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure

• Collaborate with data scientists and business analysts to understand data needs

• Identify and surface potential business risks associated with data

• Leverage Python for data manipulation and analysis

• Work effectively with continuous integration/delivery tools (Git, Jenkins, etc.) (Experience preferred)

• Experience with financial data sources like FactSet, Bloomberg, and others (Plus).

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• 10+ Years of demonstrated data engineering experience, utilizing agile methods and modern SDLC processes to deliver quality technological solutions in a transparent, reliable way.

• Experience in building and designing solutions for data warehouse and experience in working with large data sets in Oracle and Snowflake

• Demonstrable mastery of industry best practices in the data lifecycle, including data quality automation and tooling.

• A proven track record of working with complex data environments and associated technology and analytics infrastructure needed to support these environments. Ability to recognize business risk and surface it to key decision-makers.

• Domain experience with financial datasets like FactSet, Bloomberg, IBES, CompStat, S&P Global, Worldscope, Morningstar, MSCI, Reuters, IDC, Markit, BARRA, Axioma, Northfield, and PORT is a plus

• Demonstrated Experience in Python programming and familiarity with core data science libraries. Understanding different package managers and test frameworks.

• Experience in some of the following technologies continuous integration/delivery tools such as GIT, Cloudbees Jenkins, uDeploy and/or Pivotal Concourse.

• Knowledge in python web frameworks like Flask, Django is a plus

• Fluency in formal language design concepts like type systems a plus.

• Experience with quant research processes, methodologies, and tools a plus

This role must be located at the following locations: Raleigh/Durham NC, Merrimack NH, Boston MA, Knoxville TN

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $94,500 -$140,800.
