IQVIA Senior Director, Sales Engineering in Durham, North Carolina

Responsible for leading a team of sales engineers and working closely with the sales teams to drive revenue growth through technical solutions; recruiting, and training employees; providing technical training and support to both customers and employees ensuring needs of customers are met; and working with sales leadership on sales pipeline and projections, aligning resources and technical support to achieve projections.

Essential Functions

• Achieve goals related to the human resources side of sales engineering, including but not limited to hiring, training, assigning, tracking, mentoring, monitoring, and reviewing exiting and new staff.

• Develop and communicate goals to staff team, review their individual professional contributions on a regular basis, advise as to compensation decisions and enforce rules and regulations

• Ensure consistent daily operations by making recommendations through strategic planning, maintaining action plan procedures, and adhering to service standards.

• Responsible to support, organize and monitor the success of the sales engineering department staff and productivity.

• Enhance team production by assessing, building and developing individual team capabilities and readying the processes to scale.

• Improve sales and technical teams through coordination with training to direct, develop and deliver instructional material.

• Lead solution sharing and knowledge transfer among the Sales Engineering team by fostering an environment of teamwork and mentorship.

• Liaise with sales leadership to align on annual planning, resource allocation and sales strategy.

• Identify and implement process improvements to increase capacity and quality of sales engineering activities.

• Directs pre-sales technical activities for the development and implementation of large and complex multi-offering products/applications/solutions.

• Publishes thought leadership technical articles

• Drive marketing collateral and product features required to achieve sales revenue goals by collaborating with Product Development and Marketing.

• Provides internal consultation to business leaders on product capability, assessment, and validation.

• Understands the suite of technology applications and the key business drivers of clients across our offerings.

• Track and report on monthly and quarterly sales engineering opportunity assignments and revenue potential for senior leadership to leverage.

• Ensure that Sales teams get the proper technical training and support from Sales Engineering by working closely with Sales team management.

• Primary focus is on an approved IQVIA Software as a Solution (SaaS) product, or an approved technology offering, focusing exclusively on new business/new account acquisition; leads the acquisition of new, high profile clients and focuses on winning large deals for meeting revenue and profit objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of related experience Req Or

• 10+ years of field sales engineering experience Req

• Hands-on proficiency in technical management and understanding

• Exceptional leadership skills, including interpersonal communication and training

• Strong client-facing skills in partnership with sales leads

• Experience setting realistic expectations and managing a high-performing team with strong conflict and issue resolution skills

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $156,600.00 - $290,800.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
