Position: Shop Manager
As the Shop Manager, you will oversee all maintenance operations at your location, providing leadership and ensuring safe working conditions for our fleet. Your role will involve direct supervision of shop staff and collaboration with the Location Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule and administer fleet maintenance, and troubleshooting equipment issues.
Communicate vehicle availability for service to dispatch and operations personnel.
Handle hiring, training, performance reviews, and employee development for maintenance staff.
Collaborate with the Location Manager and Region Maintenance Management on maintenance status and budget needs.
Ensure compliance with State, Federal, and Company regulations for safety and maintenance activities.
Review repair orders, order parts, and manage fuel supplies for vehicles.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred).
Valid CDL Operator’s license with necessary endorsements.
5+ years of hands-on mechanical supervisory experience.
Ability to lift 20 to 50 lbs.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in computer skills and experience in repairing diesel engines and school bus equipment is preferred.
