In one year as our Director State Policy and Strategy , you will know you were successful if you are:

  • Directed MISO’s engagement with regulators throughout the MISO footprint and individual states, coordinating communication and regulatory strategies.

  • Developed relationships with key members, state regulators, and MISO service line leaders.

  • Lead the state policy team's operations and activities.

  • Advised internal stakeholders on state interests and regulatory interactions.

  • Attended and actively participated in regional and national conferences and seminars.

  • Addressed ad hoc state-involvement issues as they arose.

  • Supported and served on internal and external committees, project teams, and working groups.

  • Developed metrics aligned with long-term enterprise strategies.

  • Established and monitored departmental/divisional goals, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.

We are looking for people who have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Political Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, including previous state regulatory and energy industry experience.

What we would like you to have:

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • Experience in project management, wholesale market, or planning is advantageous.

  • Previous progressive energy industry experience (preferred)

Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.
