Kitsap County Assistant Director-Capital Facilities Division in East Port Orchard, Washington

Position Information**]{.underline} The responsibilities of this classification are to manage the Capital Facility Programs for County administrative facilities, utilities, parks and others, including project management, engineering, design management, and construction management, plus the County Facilities Maintenance program. Responsibilities include providing strategic program management and engineering oversight to the design and construction of large and small capital projects and maintenance renovation projects within assigned divisions within Kitsap County. Work typically involves a broad scope of engineering, architectural, construction management and project management responsibilities for the design and construction of infrastructure and buildings, including buildings (courthouse, jail, juvenile detention, administration), utilities (sewer, stormwater, solid waste), parks, and natural resources.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR PERFORMANCE OF THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in civil engineering, environmental engineering, public administration or closely related field;
- Ten years of progressively responsible professional experience in engineering, planning, design, construction, operations and maintenance of public or private infrastructure and facilities;
- Three years of managerial experience.
- Any equivalent combination and experience of education that provides the applicant with the desired knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the work.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Washington; or reciprocity from another state and the ability to secure WA State PE within six months is required.
The annual salary for this position ranges from $117,822.00 - $166,479.42 Annually. And offers a 10% Signing Incentive and 1 year of vacation leave accruals advanced. This position offers medical, dental, vision, life insurance, a pension retirement, and other voluntary benefits.
