POSITION SUMMARY:
The Automation Analyst I will implement automation that will ensure consistently accurate, usable and performing applications. They will also assist in making sure that all manual testing is completed on time. They will provide guidance and assistance in defining the proper testing strategy for I.S. projects and maintenance items. This position works closely with Technical Leads, Application Developers and Business Analysts to ensure testing accurately reflects the desired use of the applications.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Software Automation Testing
Develop, maintain and execute automated functional test scripts
Execute load tests and document results
Develop new automation test cases for Quality Assurance
Analyze automation errors and their root causes
Software Manual Testing
Perform manual test planning and coordination activities
Perform manual test design reviews to ensure tests are meeting quality validation standards
Interpret written and verbal requirements to create test cases with expected results
Execute test cases and document actual results
Create defects and communicate with development as they work towards resolving the issues
Create Exploratory Testing Charters
Perform Exploratory Testing
Create and document manual test plans to align with scheduled software releases
Analyze test data and identify trends and/or problem areas
Follow processes to identify discrepancies, report defects and validate actual test results vs. expected
Other:
Assist in recommending new testing procedures to reduce production errors
Suggest and recommend better ways of improving the quality of work within a team
Provide training and support to Quality Assurance team on systems, policies, procedures, and core processes
Assist in evaluation of new tools
Other tasks as assigned by Team Leader or Manager
Skills/Requirements
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
BS in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent work experience in software testing or retail industry
2+yrs - Minimum experience in software testing, including writing, reviewing, executing test plans and procedures – experience with Tricentis qTest is preferred
1+yrs - Minimum experience using automated test tools – experience with Tricentis Neoload and Tricentis TOSCA testing tools are preferred
2+yrs - Experience on large projects with multi-system interdependencies and medium to large cross-functional project teams. Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies is a plus
Proficient understanding of System Development Lifecycle
Working knowledge of Web Services and APIs
Working knowledge of some database technologies: MSSQL, MySQL, Oracle, Progress
Excellent design and analytical skills
Excellent communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to work independently, as well as cooperate with others in team efforts
Must work within designated normal office hours assigned or required by work
Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed
