POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Assurance Test Analyst I will implement and maintain manual test procedures in support of quality assurance processes, application testing, and data analysis of software systems in a combined Unix/Windows environment. They will provide input into defining the proper testing strategy for I.S. projects and maintenance items. This position works closely with Technical Leads, Application Developers and Business Analysts to ensure testing accurately reflects the desired use of the applications.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Software Manual Testing

  • Interpret written and verbal requirements to create test cases with expected results

  • Execute test cases and document actual results

  • Create defects and communicate with development as they work towards resolving the issues

  • Perform Exploratory Testing

  • Create and document manual test plans to align with scheduled software releases

  • Maintain and execute regression test cases for the assigned application

  • Maintain manual test data needed for execution

  • Follow processes to identify discrepancies, report defects and validate actual test results vs. expected

Other

  • Suggest and recommend better ways of improving the quality of work within a team

  • Other tasks as assigned by Team Leader or Manager

Skills/Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent work experience in software testing or retail industry

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be detail oriented

  • Ability to interpret functional requirements

  • Basic understanding of System Development Lifecycle

  • Ability to work independently, as well as cooperate with others in team efforts

  • Must work within designated normal office hours assigned or required by work

  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed
