We are now looking for an Inventory Control Team Leader to be based in Longmeadow.

In this role you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the inventory control operations within a warehouse and to ensure accurate and efficient inventory management to support the smooth functioning of the warehouse operations and delivery to customers. Manage designated team within the DC environment in a culture of accelerated performance, by contributing towards the achievement of KPI’s.

A day in the life of an Inventory Control Team Leader:

  • Developing and implementing inventory management policies and procedures

  • Monitoring inventory to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained.

  • Conducting regular inventory counts to identify discrepancies and resolve any issues.

  • Monitoring and maintaining inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, audits, and reconciliations.

  • Analyzing inventory data to identify slow-moving or obsolete items and implementing strategies to reduce excess inventory, i.e. Near expire and export stocks.

  • Collaborating with other departments, such as warehouse operation and D&SP, to ensure accurate inventory management and maintaining of stock for customer orders.

  • Supervising and leading a team of inventory control staff, providing guidance, training, and support

  • Utilizing SAP and Globe BW reports for inventory management and reporting on stock loses trends or identifying risks, including identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.

  • Implementing and maintaining efficient inventory storage e.g. SAP vs E80 GUI

  • Analyzing inventory data and generating reports to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Implementing and utilizing inventory management software for SAP and E80 BCP's

  • Coordinating with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely and accurate delivery of inventory.

  • Implementing and maintaining efficient inventory storage and organization systems within the warehouse for pick face layout and setting up new materials

  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices in inventory handling and storage.

  • Ensure Investigations reports are submitted as per SOP for stock loss variances above and below R2k.

  • Biannual alignment picks face bins as per ABC analysis

  • Manage aging stock and monitor FEFO strategy for picking.

What will make you successful?

  • Matriculated with basic qualification in logistics and/or equivalent.

  • 3-5 years’ experience in the Distribution environment

  • Relevant operational experience at market/business level in the following areas is beneficial:

  • Formal Knowledge of distribution end to end process.

  • Stock control, SHE, Quality

  • SAP experience

  • Employee Relations experience PC literacy to ensure proficient utilization.
