Job Purpose:

The Marketing Specialist’s primary responsibility is to ensure Casino Marketing mass and targeted campaigns and promotions are publicized, implemented and meets or exceeds guest expectations and contributes to creating loyal guests. The Marketing Specialist will operate in an effective and efficient manner, while maintain a positive and engaging environment for fellow Team Members and departments. These duties are carried out in compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, policies, procedures and law.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implements Marketing and casino directed mass and targeted campaigns and promotions by preparing and distributing Team Member communications, identifying and contacting suitable vendors, placing and tracking merchandise, equipment and supply purchases, developing promotional materials, submitting Creative Service requests, copywriting, and proof reading.

  • Executes strategic plans for approved Marketing and casino directed mass and targeted campaigns and promotions by coordinating and managing all elements of the plan, collaborating with appropriate departments to ensure adequate staffing, disseminating information, overseeing placement of casino signage, determining promotional items needed, ordering and overseeing installation of decorative items, monitoring staff activities, providing guidance and instruction as needed.

  • Evaluates success of Marketing and casino directed mass and targeted campaigns and promotions by reviewing prior year campaigns, participating in collaborative marketing planning sessions, soliciting guest and management feedback, gathering competitor program information, submitting recommendations to the Director of Promotions and Special Events.

  • Assists with the development of Promotions and Events Coordinators by providing direct and consistent instruction and guidance on policy and procedure application and service delivery.

  • Tracks and pays promotional expenses by receiving invoices, reviewing and verifying invoices for accuracy, and approving and submitting invoices to Accounting for payment.

    Job Specifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field, or equivalent work experience

  • 2 years of experience managing Marketing campaigns

  • Strong verbal, written communications skills

    Desirable:

  • Casino or hospitality marketing experience

  • Graphic design and/or copywriting experience

    Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

  • Ability to interact effectively with guests, external agencies, vendors and team members

  • Ability to provide leadership and guidance to promotions staff

  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks and assignments

  • Ability to perform data entry assignments

  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language

  • Ability to complete forms, documents and written reports

  • Ability to analyze data and make sound recommendations

  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure

  • Ability to appear for work on time

  • Ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written directions

  • Ability to accept constructive criticism

  • Ability to work in a smoking environment
