I. Duties & Responsibilities
Include, but are not limited to the following:
Develops and executes plans to accomplish construction/maintenance work.
Assists in budget preparation and monitors budget compliance.
Monitors activities and initiates actions that support the accomplishment of the work.
Provides appropriate technical guidance to accomplish the work.
Plans a job, assembles a team, and ensures the plan is effectively implemented.
Communicates information relative to the accomplishment of the work
Collects and analyzes data to create documents, including reports, memos, graphs, charts, tables, etc.
Provides feedback relative to the results of task accomplishments into the development of new plans.
Coordinates interfaces between various work groups
Gains cooperation and action from people not under employee’s direct control
Reviews and provides input on changes in the original work plan.
Initiates/participates in continuous improvement planning and implementation in assigned area of responsibility.
Ensures Company resources are used in a cost-effective manner.
Supports and emphasizes the importance of safety and environmental programs and ensure regulatory compliance.
Recognizes problems and is proactive in helping to resolve them.
May be required to direct the work activities of others.
Ensures work performed by external service providers is in support of objectives, responsibilities, and contractual agreements.
Ensures constructability process for specific projects, as appropriate.
Approve external service providers expenditures, as required.
II. Requirements
A. Education/Experience
Minimum of High School Diploma or Equivalent.
5 years of Coordinating experience.
Preferred:
- Baccalaureate degree in an Engineering or related technical discipline from an accredited college or university, or 5 years of equivalent experience in a related field.
B. Knowledge/Skills
Understanding and ability to use TRACK and SAP for optimizing resource loading and scheduling.
Basic understanding of the processes, systems, assets, resources, key personnel, and business functions of the SBU
Knowledge of power plant systems and operation consistent with level of responsibility
Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a team environment.
Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) at all levels of the organization.
Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all individuals.
Demonstrated sound business skills necessary to accomplish assigned tasks.
Ability to use a personal computer and standard business software.
Ability to perform as a team member or leader in a cross-functional team environment and achieve consensus decisions.
Ability to read, create and follow written policies and procedures.
Ability to read, write and understand English.
Ability to understand and interpret drawings and specifications in area of responsibility.
Knowledge of and ability to apply industry and NRG standards and codes in area of responsibility.
Ability to use basic math and algebra to perform calculations.
Comprehensive working knowledge of construction/maintenance practice and procedures
Knowledge of the bargaining unit agreement (CBA)
Knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations

III. Working Conditions
Normal office environment and/or power plant environment
Requires operation of a motor vehicle, Texas Driver’s License
Work overtime and non-standard working hours, as required.
Requires occasional travel, as needed.
Occasionally requires wearing personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc.)
May be required to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials, and chemicals.
Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, and entering plant equipment to access, inspect or collect data on plant equipment.
Requires operation of a personal computer
Occasionally requires lifting as appropriate to perform duties and responsibilities.
Please Note: Salary offered will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s education and/or experience and consistent with the job location’s market pay rate.
