POSITION: Library Tech

DUTIES: * Circulation Desk Management * Assist students and staff with checking in and checking out books and other library materials. * Maintain accurate records of library transactions using the library management system. * Ensure timely and efficient handling of book reservations and inter-library loan requests. * Shelving and Inventory: * Organize and shelve books according to the Dewey Decimal System or other library classification systems. * Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure the accuracy of the library collection. * Process incoming library materials such as new books, magazines, and digital resources. * Library Maintenance * Ensure the library is neat, orderly, and conducive to learning. * Assist in the upkeep of library equipment such as computers, printers, and scanners. * Notify appropriate personnel of any maintenance or repair needs in the library. * User Assistance * Provide basic reference and research assistance to students and staff. * Assist users in locating library materials and utilizing library resources effectively. * Promote library programs, services, and resources to encourage library usage. * Support for Library Programs * Assist in the planning, promotion, and implementation of library programs and events. * Collaborate with teachers and administrators to support curriculum-based activities and projects. * Help create displays and exhibits that showcase library resources and promote reading.

REQUIREMENTS: * High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred. * Previous experience working in a library or educational setting is advantageous. * Familiarity with library systems and procedures, including cataloging and classification. * Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. * Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology. * Commitment to promoting literacy and a passion for working with students.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

WAGE: $17.75-$21.86/hour

SHIFTS: 4-hour days/180 Contract Days

JOB SITE: Elizabeth Middle School

BENEFITS: * This position is part-time with some flexibility in scheduling. * Hourly compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
