Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Manager Facilities Engineering 3 for our Elkton, Maryland location.

The Facilities Manager position will be the responsible individual to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness for a broad and diverse propulsion manufacturing facility, execution and ownership of large capital projects, and meeting facility and maintenance budgets. The manager will lead and oversee a facilities engineering and maintenance team that performs a broad array of tasks ranging from large construction projects to day-to-day maintenance and execution. The chosen candidate must have demonstrated ability in working with cross organizational teams and customers; the ability to set and clearly articulate goals/priorities and successfully communicate them to key staff; strong leadership skills; and a track record of building high-performance teams, with a particular focus on employee development, engagement, inclusion, and retention.

Elkton, Maryland is located on the Upper Chesapeake Bay, midway between Philadelphia and Baltimore. Discover charming small towns, parks with miles of trails, specialty and antique shops, award winning restaurants, and inns. You can hike, bike, camp, bird watch, ride horseback, or drop a fishing line. Five rivers, Chesapeake Bay and the C&D Canal can be explored by boat or by land. Primary Job responsibilities Include:

  • Management of Facilities Engineering, Maintenance, and Grounds departments

  • Strong working knowledge of construction execution and practices, and building/facility maintenance

  • Responsible for capital planning, budget adherence, execution, and monthly reporting

  • Responsible for overall Facility and Maintenance budget adherence, execution, and monthly reporting

  • Ensuring team executes projects and tasks to meet needs of internal and external customers

  • Responsible for overall facility maintenance and upkeep

  • Program Manager Responsibilities to include: planning and program performance addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality of a work package, subsystem, or related group of work packages on capital and overhead Facilities projects

  • Conducts monthly one-on-one meetings with direct reports to discuss status of individual objectives

  • Supports and leads direct reports in our PES culture, including SafeStart and Win Stories

  • Responsible for providing objective-oriented direction to subordinates

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in STEM field or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of directly related facility maintenance or engineering experience or construction management or

  • 3-5 years of project, program, or people leadership experience

  • Strong mechanical skills and exposure to a manufacturing environment

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project)

  • Familiar with Root Cause Analysis, Fault Trees and Design of Experiments

  • Strong leadership, influence, and project management skills

  • Ability to network and negotiate at all levels within an organization to accomplish objectives

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written

  • Occasional travel (<25%) to meet with various customers, in both government and industry, and to interface with vendors

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a prerequisite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil engineering

  • Master's degree Mechanical or Civil engineering

  • Working knowledge of computer aided design (CAD) software

  • Prior experience working in a facility with hazardous operations

  • Active U.S. Secret level security clearance or higher

Salary Range: $156,800 - $235,200

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
