Navistar, Inc. Thermal Validation Technician in Elmendorf, Texas
Position Overview
Navistar's Research & Development Team has an exciting opportunity for a Thermal Validation Technician at our Advance Technology Center in Elmendorf, Texas. The Thermal Validation Technician will report to the site Chief Engineer and support vehicle builds and validation activities of Navistar products, which include heavy trucks and school buses.
Responsibilities
Vehicle instrumentation installation for testing and validation.
Work from schematics, diagrams, drawings, written and verbal descriptions
Perform testing to check out and trouble shoot functions. Assist engineering with instrumenting test articles, test setup, and test breakdown for validation activities
Uses manufacturing, test, development, or diagnostic equipment, including, but not limited to, test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators and specialized test apparatus
Perform operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Troubleshooting, diagnosing, performing preventative maintenance, and repairing of test equipment
General labor around facility & other tasks as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Associate’s degree
At least 3 years of experience supporting engineering activities and/or automotive or diesel mechanic experience
OR
- At least 5 years of experience supporting engineering activities and/or automotive or diesel mechanic experience
Additional Requirements
- Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
Desired Skills
Vehicle electrical system trouble shooting and diagnostics
Experience with Chassis dyno and light maintenance
Familiar with thermocouples, pressure transducers, flow meters, shunts
Experience with ETAS/INCA software
Must be able to work independently with limited degree of supervision
