SILVER LION FARMS LLC Compliance Manager in Ely, Nevada

Silver Lions Farmsis seeking an experiencedCompliance Managerto join our team inEly, Nevada.

About the Role-TheCompliance Managerwill be responsible for ensuring our operation is in compliance with all applicable local and state laws, regulations, and industry standards. This includes ensuring compliance with Cultivation and Production requirements and best practices as defined by the Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board, appropriate product labeling, managing inventory and records, and overseeing employee compliance training.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

Licensing: Cannabis Compliance Board

  • Complete annual license renewal requirements.

Nevada Department of Agriculture

  • Complete the annual renewal for the Hemp Grower License.
  • Complete the annual renewal process for the grower license, including document collection and communication with the NDA.
  • Coordinate associated site visits by the NDA.

Hemp Handler License

  • Complete the annual renewal process for handler license covering the bucking, trimming and grinding of harvested flower, including document collection and communication with the NDA.
  • Coordinate associated site visits by the NDA.
  • Investigate additional reach of handler license as the company continues to develop its infrastructure.

Hemp Harvest Reports

  • Complete and submit hemp harvest reports 45 days before the harvest of each indoor/outdoor crop, and schedule meeting for the NDA to complete an onsite test 30 days before harvest.
  • Coordinate with Director of Cultivation/Head Farmer for harvest inspection 30 days before harvest with NDA representative.
  • Correspond with state concerning results of inspections, retesting, etc.

Organic Certifiers:

  • Maintain regular records of growing processes, amendments, and harvests for organic audit.
  • Schedule and oversee organic inspection and audit process every 18 months.
  • Compile, manage, and submit organic booklet during audit process.
  • Correspond with organic certifiers during audit process.
  • Maintain a current Organic Systems Plan (OSP), reflecting current growing practices.
  • Apply for and manage the certification of new organic land and facilities.
  • Verify organic status of all nutrients and soil amendments.
  • Verify organic OR non-GMO and untreated status of all seeds to be planted.
  • Verify organic status of all planted starts and clones.

Regulatory Compliance Oversight:

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding cannabis Cultivation and Production operations.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in cannabis laws and regulations and formally communicate updates to relevant departments.
  • Ensure that plant and packaging tags are printed and entered into METRC throughout the production process.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of all compliance documentation, including licensing, audits, inspections, and corrective action plans.
  • Prepare and submit the required compliance reports to the Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board regulatory agency.
  • Ensure that every plant is registered in METRC for seed to sale tracking.

Internal Audits and Training:

  • Conduct regular internal audits of operational procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Develop and deliver compliance training programs to employees.

    Liaison with Regulatory Bodies:*

  • Act as the primary contact point for all communications with regulatory agencies.

  • Represent the company during regulatory inspections and audits.

Policy Development and Implementation:

  • Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures to ensure all operations meet regulatory requirements.
  • Review and update compliance policies regularly to reflect changes in laws and operational practices.

Risk Management:

  • Identify compliance risks and develop risk management strategies to mitigate them.
  • Monitor enforcement actions in the industry and adjust compliance strategies accordingly.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years in cannabis compliance.

Skills and Core Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in compliance software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Expert knowledge of METRC.
  • Strong understanding of cannabis regulations and industry standards.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Proactive in identifying and addressing potential compliance issues.

Physical Demands

  • Operating basic office equipment.
  • Using hands to type, handle, and carry objects.
  • Stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
  • Using close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
