Responsibilities Assists in managing the district fleet program including acquisition, replacement, and disposal of the district’s motor vehicle fleet; assists Fleet Manager with administration of GSA and DOI vehicle management program to meet district needs. Processes new fleet charge card applications for the district and field offices. Provides district-wide direction on planning, acquisition, management, inventory, utilization, and disposal of all personal property to include computer equipment, radios, trailers, etc. Serves as the backup in the supply ordering process by ordering, completing material handling, storage, receiving, and distribution of products. Conducts periodic inventories to maintain accurate inventory lists, determine stocking and reorder needs, initiates appropriate purchases and creates/initiates Purchase Request Authorizations. Responsible for maintaining inventory control over large amounts of assets using complex automated control systems; arranges inspections, transfers, repairs, packing, and transporting of property as the primary District Receiving Officer. Provides interpretation of the regulations governing acquisitions and administration of common and specialized assets. Serves the district in all needs for property and fleet vehicles. Maintains positive relationships with all users and employees within the district. No assumptions will be made about your experience. For the GS-09: - Must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) in the Federal service. Specialized experience is further defined as experience with oversight and maintenance operations for an office building, real and personal property and fleet program; performs routine aspects of space and building management functions; provide direction to office personnel on building, fleet and property issues; OR - Have completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related to the field of financial management, business administration or accounting; OR - Have a combination of education and specialized experience as described above and in the vacancy announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Physical Demands: The physical requirements are those generally associated with an office or warehouse environment. The work requires sitting, standing, bending, walking, driving, and occasionally lifting and moving supplies and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds. The incumbent operates a variety of motor vehicles and/or forklifts. Situations can be expected to dictate working out in the open or in the less comfortable surroundings and a variety of field conditions. Work Environment: Work is normally performed in an office or warehouse setting. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The incumbent may be out of door in unfavorable conditions relating to supply, real and personal property, warehouse, and fleet management duties. Education This position falls under the General Business and Industry Series, 1101. There are no Individual Occupational Requirements for this series. This position allows for education to be substituted for specialized experience (see qualification section for education requirements).
