Overview

This role reports through the Purchasing team and to the VP of Trade & Purchasing. TheDirector of Purchasing and Trade Relationswould work with various cross-functional teams, at different levels of the organization, in the completion of responsibilities including Finance, Accounting, Clinical, Operations, IT and external business partners. This role may be a hybrid role (player / coach) overseeing team performance while also performing similar purchasing & inventory responsibilities. This role would be responsible for the management of the purchasing activities and inventory demands of the business and strive to deliver the highest level of care to our customers. This role will oversee and be responsible for the ensuring the fulfillment of the purchasing and inventory responsibilities for the division. This role would need to be the department subject matter expert for various pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical product ordering, product transfers, receiving reconciliation, dispensing system updates and administrative tasks in support of the pharmacy division. This role would be responsible for the ensuring a consistent supply and inventory of pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical products to prevent stock outages while managing inventory days on hand to meet corporate inventory targets. The individual in this role would need to be a self-starter, manage other team members, be able to work independently & cross-functionally and utilize different ordering systems, databases, or tools to complete role responsibilities. The individual in this role would need to be able use the critical thinking and analytics to work cross-functionally and to take action to drive business results.

Based in Englewood, CO, this is can be a remote opportunity. Candidates can reside within the Continental USA.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the assigned Purchasing and Inventory Specialist team’s performance of responsibilities and provide support across other Trade & Purchasing teams.

  • Completion of assigned daily product ordering processes for assigned pharmacies utilizing division pharmacy management ordering systems and certain supplier ordering systems within supplier order cutoff times

  • Monitor open purchase order report and work with supplier to determine supply issues or delayed delivery

  • Utilize purchasing analytical tools to identify the optimal product quantities to order for the assigned pharmacies to support patient product access and to maintain targeted pharmacy inventory levels

  • Identify excess product inventory situations and work with team members to support product transfers between pharmacies to balance product days on hand across pharmacies

  • Timely maintain supplier and product information (e.g., acquisition cost) in pharmacy management system and ordering systems

  • Work with suppliers to resolve order and receiving discrepancies and product returns

  • Troubleshoot and resolve purchasing specialist team member challenges (i.e., systems, suppliers, pharmacy, etc.) experienced

  • Ensure implementation of supplier setup with pharmacy divisions DSCSA service supplier

  • Support training of new employees and coverage for team member and director absence

  • Completion of reporting and other assigned responsibilities

  • Conduct role responsibilities in accordance with company standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (required), masters degree or MBA (preferred)

  • 8+ years of pharmaceutical purchasing experience (preferred)

  • 4+ years’ experience supervising others (preferred)

  • Working knowledge Excel, Word, and Outlook (required) and CPR+ or other inventory dispensing system experience (preferred)

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (preferred)

  • Works well with others

Salary Range

USD $145,800.00 - $218,600.00 / Year
