U.S. Bank is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (AIML) who will own key Gen AI and ML engineering and contribute toward the production scale-out adoption and success of our mature Data and AIML technology initiative in our digital transformation journey
The Senior AIML Software Engineer will be responsible for the analysis, design, testing, development and maintenance of best-in-class AIML, Generative AI and Data Engineering experiences. The candidate is a self-motivated individual who can collaborate with a team and across the organization. The candidate takes responsibility of the AIML models and platforms including cutting edge GenAI (LLMs and LMMs) produced adhering to the U.S. Bank risk and compliance standards to optimal value to the customer experience.
Essential Responsibilities:
Responsible for designing, developing, testing, operating and maintaining AIML and Gen AI platforms and products
Design, develop and implement GenAI models and algorithms
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design and implement new features
Conduct research to advance the state-of -the-art in generative AI
Optimize and fine-tune AI models for performance and scalability
Develop and maintain documentation for AI models and systems
Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning
Participate in code reviews and contribute to a high standard of code quality
Troubleshoot and debug issue in AI systems and applications
Takes full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code
Exhibits relentless focus in producing the AIML models and features with various application teams
Embraces emerging technology opportunities and contributes to the best practices in support of the bank’s technology transformation
Contributes to a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement
Reviews tasks critically and ensures they are appropriately prioritized and sized for incremental delivery; anticipates and communicates blockers and delays before they require escalation
Basic Qualifications:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience6+ six years of relevant experience
Required Skills/Experience:
6+ years’ experience developing in ML (Machine language)
Experience in Generative AI; AI; Large language models, multi-language models
6+ years’ experience in building and deploying Agile Business models’10+ years’ experience in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++ 1+ years' experience with AI frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch or Keras
Strong production deployment and implementation experience
Related customer experience
Ability to lead AL/ML efforts
Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms and principles
Experience with natural language processing (NLP) and computer vison
Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or Google Cloud)
Experience with version control systems (Git)
Preferred Skills/Experience:
PhD or master’s degree in computer science or related major
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to think critically
Basic understanding of adjacent teams' business domains
Ability to collaborate on all aspects of product development
Technically proficient and able to define and fulfill solutions requirements for end user
Effective problem-solving and analytical skills
NOTE: This role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $132,260.00 - $155,600.00 - $171,160.00
