Principal Engineer - eVinci Nuclear Test Reactor (NTR) Safety Analysis

The NTR Principal Safety Analysis Engineer is responsible for supporting the safety analysis engineering work scopes by coordinating and collaborating amongst the systems, components, and modeling and simulation teams to drive scoping and execution of safety analysis, including performing calculations/analyses where appropriate to support the NTR project. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing completion of engineering work scopes to ensure NTR requirements are met
  • Prioritizing and driving resolution of action items related to NTR safety analysis
  • Collaboration with engineering management to ensure appropriate resource support
  • Creation and revision of NTR documents to support the engineering and licensing efforts
  • Leading the development of safety cases for different stages of the reactor lifecycle, including startup, shutdown and long term storage
  • Supporting the development of the testing program including test cases and test instrumentation based upon safety analysis verification and validation needs

The successful candidate should have an engineering background with a bachelors degree (minimum) in an engineering discipline and several years demonstrated experience in safety analysis engineering work. Prior specific experience developing safety analysis methodologies, and performing safety analysis code verification and validation, including a deep understanding of the regulatory landscape is required. Some experience in project technical leadership is desired. Experience in product development programs in design and engineering is a plus.
