Job Title: OHD Technician

Job Description

As a Lead Overhead Door Technician, you will be a part of our team, installing and servicing various types of overhead door mechanics and systems. This includes sectional, rolling steel, high speed, service and sliding doors, gate opening systems, operable partitions, and dock leveling systems. Product-specific training will be provided to equip you with the necessary skills and techniques. This role requires you to work in various work environments and weather conditions, and demands a commitment of 40+ hours a week. A positive attitude, punctuality, reliability, and professional demeanor are essential as you will represent the company at customer job sites. The job may require you to work overtime, on weekends, and at different job sites.

Hard Skills

  • Commercial overhead door installation/service

  • ARC/MIG welding

  • Metal fabrication

  • Hoist and slings

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, design schematics, and electrical wiring diagrams

  • Understanding of PLC functions (ladder logic/programming)

  • Understanding of relay logic circuit and 3 phase 480 volts

  • Analytical and trouble-shooting skills of mechanical and electrical components

  • Job site organizational skills

  • Ensuring job site safety

  • Use of heavy equipment like scissor lifts, high lifts, fork trucks

  • Reviewing bid documents

  • Reading blueprints

  • Understanding product specifications

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Evansville, Indiana.

Work Environment

This role requires you to work in various environments and weather conditions. You must be available to work 40+ hours a week, with potential for overtime and weekend work. The role also involves occasional travel, with rare overnight stays and Saturday work. Driving is a part of the role, and you must be insurable by our company’s insurance program, have a valid driver’s license with a strong driving record, and possess or obtain a “For Hire” endorsement. The physical requirements of the job include lifting heavy materials overhead, working at heights, and working in all types of weather conditions.
