Engineering associated with the manufacturing process. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines. There is latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing work situations.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Government Property Representative involving tracking, cost, material management, lean, 5S

  • Advanced manufacturing planning support involving scheduling, program support, hardware management

  • Manufacturing engineering tasks, primarily tactical responsibilities

  • This potentially includes some minor general administrative work

  • Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to develop, implement, and execute processes, procedures, and standards

  • May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills

  • Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work

  • Good understanding of how the working technical team integrates with other teams and contributes to the overall project success of the area.

  • May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework

  • Resolve issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consult more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters

  • A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team. For customer facing roles, develop strong customer relationships and serve as the interface between customer and GE. Explain technical information to others

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma /GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials Science, Chemical, etc)

  • Additional 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering

  • Must be a US citizen

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
