Director of Training and Talent Development

Salary range $95,000 - $105,000 annually

Full time, Mercer County NJ

Who We Need:

The Arc Mercer is seeking a Director of Training and Talent Development who will be responsible for leading the strategic direction and execution of the Agency's training, learning, and talent development programs. The Director of Training and Talent Development will be a hands-on leader who can identify organizational needs, design and implement comprehensive training programs, and drive initiatives that enhance employee skills, performance, and career growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in adult learning, instructional design and talent management, combined with excellent leadership and communication skills.

What We Need:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive training and talent development strategy aligned with the Agency's goals and objectives.

  • Assess the current and future skill requirements of the organization and create training plans to address gaps.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify key performance metrics and success factors for talent development programs.

    Program Development and Implementation:

  • Design, deliver, and manage a variety of learning solutions, including instructor-led training, e-learning, workshops, and on-the-job training.

  • Utilize best practices in adult learning theory and instructional design to create engaging and effective training materials.

  • Implement leadership development programs to cultivate the next generation of Agency leaders.

    Talent Management:

  • Oversee the development and execution of performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and career pathing.

  • Develop strategies to ensure a pipeline of qualified candidates for key positions.

    Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a network of training professionals.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

  • Collaborate across organization to ensure training initiatives meet departmental and organizational goals.

    Evaluation and Reporting:

  • Measure the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and key performance indicators.

  • Prepare and present regular reports on training and development activities, outcomes, and ROI to senior management.

  • Continuously refine programs based on feedback and changing organizational needs.

    What You Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or related field. Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of training, talent development, or related roles, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership position.

  • Proven track record of designing and delivering successful training and development programs.

  • Experience in identifying and implementing Leave Management Systems (LMS).

  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and talent management practices.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS) and other training technologies.

  • Certification in relevant training and development programs (e.g., CTPTD, SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
