Sr. Visual Display Systems Engineer Job Locations US-OH-Fairborn Job ID 2024-7529 Overview Abacus Technology is seeking a Sr. Visual Display Systems Engineer to provide technical support at Wright-Patterson AFB. This is a full-time position. Responsibilities Assist with technical requirements generation and requirements compliance determination pertaining to mechanical, electrical, optical, and software systems for imaging sensors, visual displays and image generation products addressing performance, integrity, and airworthiness. Evaluate technical documentation, determine sufficiency of artifacts for demonstrating compliance with specification and airworthiness, summarize findings, recommend changes, and communicate all results to program office. Provide technical briefs to the program office and operator community on three-dimensional imaging systems, optical distortions, effects on human visual interpretation and user visual comfort and fatigue. Assist with analysis, requirements generation, characterization, testing and verification of optical component performance including sensors, lenses, mirrors, and displays. Develop and execute test plans and formal verification testing against written requirements as well as review test report artifacts for visual displays, sensors, optical components, and image generation components. Qualifications 15+ years experience in visual display engineering including at least 5 years supporting DoD programs. Bachelor's degree in a related field. Able to apply an understanding of DoD, AF, and common engineering/scientific principles, processes, and procedures to improve performance and sustainability of existing and future AF and joint service weapon systems. Experience working on each stage of the system development life cycle from initiation through deployment/sustainment. Able to elicit and interpret requirements and translate to technical specifications/system design following best practices and design patterns. Able to communicate with management, technical staff, and end users in a clear and professional manner. Experience with engineering practices, techniques, and standards. Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to develop and present technical presentations. Able to represent complex data in diagrams or through other techniques that communicate precise information to both business and technical staff. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance with SCI access (TS/SCI).
