Koniag Data Solutions , a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Cybersecurity Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) with a Secret clearance to support KDS and our government customer in Fairfax, VA.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years consecutive hands-on experience as an Information Systems Security Engineer or have at least 5 years consecutive hand-on experience as a Windows Server System Administrator.

  • Demonstrate ability to independently design, configure, test, implement and maintain network system server support activities, and ability to support application programmers working in that environment.

  • Ability to independently evaluate and resolve system, servers, storage, and processing problems.

  • Ability to design, configure and implement system, servers, and storage architecture designs.

  • Ability to evaluate performance using hardware and software diagnostic tools.

  • Participate in the design, planning and installation of new systems, servers, storage, and hardware.

  • Evaluate changes for operational impact.

  • Makes recommendations for approval systems, servers, and storage installations.

  • Prepare milestone status reports and deliverables/presentations on systems, servers, and storage progress to stakeholders, colleagues, subordinates, and end user representatives.

Required Skills:

  • Installing and maintaining Windows 2008, or greater and Linux base operating systems.

  • Experience configuring and supporting virtual environments leveraging VMware and SAN technologies.

  • Experience with DoD DISA STIG and NIST RMF security implementation processes.

  • Previous exposure to EMC SAN, NAS, and backup (ideally Avamar) solutions is preferred.

  • Experience with Group Policy creation, migration, permissions management, and security settings enforcement.

  • Proficient on DOD-PKI technology.

  • Intermediate to advanced hands-on account management for Active Directory users, computers, groups and service accounts.

  • Windows networking knowledge TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and firewall concepts.

  • Ability to script using PowerShell.

  • Hands-on creating basic technical documentation for servers and applications.

  • Must have experience with vulnerability scanners and other network and host-based security tools

  • Must be a self-motivated individual that requires little oversight.

  • Must be able to work as part of a team.

  • Create Network Architectural drawings depicting an Information Systems Accreditation Boundary using Visio or other similar drawing package.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Federal Secret Security Clearance.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain certifications IAW DoD 8570.01M.

Must be proficient in the following tools:

  • Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook

  • Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS)

  • SharePoint 2010 or later

  • DISA STIG Viewer

  • NIST SP 800-53 Security Controls

Preferred Experience :

  • Experience using EMC SAN mirror, snapshot, and replication is highly preferable.

  • Experience in patch management using SCCM or Tanium, must have in-depth knowledge building MSI packages ready for deployment.

  • DoD DISA Host-based security suite (HBSS) experience

  • Hands on experience with DoD DISA ACAS tools

Working Environment & Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
