Role Description
The Director Public Affairs will be responsible for Public Affairs output across Live Nation Entertainemnt UK and Ireland/EMEA.
The role will be responsible for manging the relationship between Live Nation Entertainment and key external stakeholders including Government contacts and Media influencers within LNE International markets, with specific focus on the UK Government, Parliament and Trade Associations.
To develop effective relationships with policy makers, local and regional governments, local authorities and economic partners. This person will represent and advocate the company’s policy positions on issues affecting our operations within our international markets and support the delivery of the Public Affairs and to lead on the delivery of specific campaigns as required to effectively manage the reputation of LNE within the industry and wider public domain.

Who you are
Competencies / Skills / Knowledge / Experience
Recognised senior experience advocating a public policy agenda and strategy in the UK, gained either in an agency or an in-house position.
A strong, cross-party network of political stakeholders in the UK and a record of achievement in political and policy advocacy.
The ability to influence, negotiate with and persuade others internally and externally. Must be able to demonstrate strong judgment/decision-making skills and political acumen.
Knowledge of, and experience in, the music industry would be beneficial but not essential.
Experience of managing proactive government affairs programmes which integrate corporate communication activity.
Ability and gravitas to represent LNE at 1:1 meetings, industry and parliamentary events and engagement with government elites.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate in precise and articulate terms with external and internal stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to build trusted relationships and to convey commercial information sensitively.

What the role includes
Create, maintain and manage strategic relationships with key stakeholders including Government, Opposition Parties, Trade Associations and campaigning groups
Devise appropriate and effective engagement strategy for key government stakeholders on specific issues relating to LNE UK and Ireland/EMEA business
Engage with key LNE UK and Ireland/EMEA leaders to ensure alignment in objectives and timings
Support LNE VP Corporate Affairs, TM VP Communications, and LNE General Counsel in delivering specific policy campaigns, including policy and messaging development
Respond to key public policy and political issues facing LNE UK and Ireland/EMEA and the wider Music and Ticketing industry through trade bodies and own activity such as consultation responses and engagement programmes.
Ensure Executive team is briefed on political and regulatory issues, as well as providing assistance in planning and delivering key media interviews and journalist engagement
Prepare business leads to undertake public affairs activities, including giving oral evidence to committees and attending political, industry and networking events
Work with LNE UK and Ireland/EMEA teams within the business (legal, risk, data privacy, HR, finance, and communications) to garner a deep understanding of how the business operates
Represent LNE UK and Ireland/EMEA at external meetings communicating complicated business ideas clearly and succinctly
Analyse political and public policy developments that affect LNE UK and Ireland/EMEA including but not limited to ticketing, resale, competition, data privacy
Support VP Corporate Affairs on communications strategy as needed
