How you will shape the future of Pulping Operations:

  • Provide leadership for unionized, hourly employees.

  • Assure safety of mill personnel and security of mill assets.

  • Manage the performance of assigned personnel including reviews and discipline.

  • Train and coach employees on the operational knowledge and safe work practices.

  • Schedule and conduct shift meetings.

  • Manage appropriate staffing levels and monitor resources utilization.

  • Coordinate and follow up on investigations of incidents, accidents, near misses, etc. and ensure proper emergency response.

  • Approve time worked of all personnel assigned.

You’ll be someone who can bring:

  • Able to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and extended hours. This is not a 9-5 position.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 2-5 years' experience OR 5 years' experience in pulping operations.

  • Demonstrated lead person or supervisor back-up experience a plus.

  • Experience in pulp and paper systems operations is preferred.

  • Leadership ability is essential.

  • Excellent communication both oral and written.

  • Computer skills including MS 365 calendar, teams, email, etc.
