VCA Animal Hospitals Veterinary Technician Coordinator in Fishers, Indiana

VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team as the Training and Development Coordinator!

Position Overview:

At AVCC, we know how important our medical support staff are to our patient care and client experience and highly value these positions. We are looking to expand the onboarding and clinical development of our technicians, veterinary assistants, and technician assistants.

The successful candidate will be a believer in the possibilities of high-quality veterinary medicine as we offer multi-disciplinary medicine and collaborative work with many specialty departments within our own hospital. You must also be committed to the development and support of various levels of skill and experience within veterinary medicine.

Schedule: Full-time, 5 x 8 hour shifts, have flexibility with scheduling based on training needs.

Compensation:

The starting range for is determined by license, skill set, and years of experience in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee technician training programs to enhance technical skills, efficiency, and patient care.

  • Coordinate and lead hands-on training sessions, workshops, and continuing education opportunities.

  • Collaborate with hospital leadership to identify training needs and develop individualized learning plans for team members.

  • Mentor and support veterinary technicians and assistants in skill development, workflow efficiency, and professional growth.

  • Ensure all training aligns with VCA standards and industry best practices.

  • Maintain training records, track progress, and provide feedback to team members and leadership.

  • Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and integrating new team members into the hospital's culture and workflows.

  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in veterinary medicine and ensure training materials reflect current standards.

  • Foster a culture of teamwork, communication, and ongoing learning within the hospital.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Registered Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, RVT)

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in a veterinary hospital setting, in specialty, emergency, or advanced care.

  • Prior experience in mentorship, training, or leadership within a veterinary setting preferred.

  • Strong technical skills, including anesthesia monitoring, radiology, laboratory procedures, and patient care.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and develop team members at various skill levels.

  • Comfortable using technology to develop and deliver training materials.

  • Passion for veterinary medicine, education, and team development.
