Mustad USA 2nd Shift Machine Operator in Forest Lake, Minnesota
$2,000.00 Bonus = $1,000 after 90 days and $1,000 after 1 year
2nd Shift differential: $3.25
Position Overview
The operator/line worker is responsible for the operation of robotic lines for the purpose of manufacturing the highest quality horseshoes in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. Demonstrates Mustad values, showing respect for and engagement with co-workers, especially as it contributes to a quality product and organization success.
Essential Job Functions ( required duties and responsibilities)
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Operates production line equipment properly, following all safety and SOP regulations and procedures, including Mustad Performance Systems (MPS)
Is responsible for monitoring and adjusting the line in regard to heat, speed, quality specifications, and cleanliness, including disposal of production debris
Is responsible for steel changes, die changes, or other component changes, making them in least disruptive manner
Ensures production of quality product, regularly inspecting horseshoes for adherence to quality, appearance, and usage requirements according to internal protocols
keeps written records and ERP functions up to date as needed or requested.
Provides other support as requested and needed
Education, Experience, and Skills Requirements
Ability to read, write and speak English at a basic level
Attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot for process improvement
Mechanical aptitude
Basic computer skills
Desirable Skills/Attributes ( preferred but not required)
HS diploma or GED
Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Familiarity with machine operation
Physical Demands
Prolonged periods of standing, walking
Use of hands to repeatedly grasp and perform fine manipulation
Bending, crawling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, sometimes above shoulder level.
Visual acuity and depth perception
Lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs
Pushing/pulling up to 145 lbs
Work Environment
Factory setting
Exposure to heat, humidity, dust fumes, gases, toxic/caustic chemicals, and airborne particles
Exposure to significantly loud noise
Exposure to moving mechanical parts on line, as well as moving equipment throughout the factory
Mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which the company provides
