Position Summary

The Department of Chemistry seeks applications from chemistry instructors who are interested in adjunct (temporary), contract (special), or continuing (special) assignments at Colorado State University.

The instructor in chemistry will contribute to the Department of Chemistry at Colorado State University through a range of activities. The major commitment will be teaching undergraduate courses or supervising laboratory instruction as appropriate to the instructor’s background and the needs of the department. In addition, the instructor is expected to demonstrate interest in improving teaching and learning in the department through other activities. These can include but are not limited to activities such as improving methods for chemistry instruction; mentoring undergraduate students in outreach activities; developing new lecture demonstrations; developing and revising peer evaluation tools. In general, the instructor is expected to interact with other members of the department including faculty, staff, and students, enriching and enhancing the undergraduate education program offered by the Department of Chemistry at Colorado State University. Required Job Qualifications

A master’s degree in an appropriate discipline is required.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U. S. A. by the proposed start date,andfor the full dates of the appointment. The Department of Chemistry does not guarantee financial visa support for hires from this pool.

Preferred Job Qualifications

A Ph.D. degree in an appropriate discipline is strongly preferred.

Instructor open pool positions may be an adjunct (temporary), contract (special), or continuing (special) assignment. Annual terms and reappointment may depend on performance and/or the continued availability of funding. The pool will expire 04-30-2025. Individuals wishing to be considered beyond this date must reapply.
