Independent Bank Group Portfolio Manager III - Fort Collins, CO in Fort Collins, Colorado
The principal functions of the Portfolio Manager are to (1) continuously monitor and assess the credit profiles of the customers in her/his assigned portfolio; (2) help retain customer relationships by providing exceptional service; (3) assist with routine issues such as overdrafts, wires, new account openings, etc.; (4) ensure that renewals, extensions and annual reviews are completed in a timely manner; (5) seek ways to enhance customer profitability by continuously looking for cross-sell opportunities; 6) replace runoff and amortization in the portfolio by selling deeper into the book of business and 7) continuously seek referral opportunities from current customers and centers of influence.
Responsibilities:
Portfolio Management
Manages the most complex relationships (credits, deposits, and fee based products/services) that require the most complex analysis
Performs or initiates account/loan maintenance as required
Acts as liaison for customer inquiries, issues account instructions; redirects questions and requests as necessary if issues relate to other departments
Acts as a subject matter expert to provide guidance and support to less experienced staff regarding customer questions and issues
Mentors junior staff, manages workflow within the team
Ensures accuracy of information, data, and documentation for all portfolio accounts
Credit Management
For new and renewing loan requests, determines borrower credit-worthiness in accordance with credit policy and manages the request through the appropriate underwriting and closing processes
Properly documents loan transactions
Conducts continuous review and administration of loans
Manages enterprise risk for products and services, including depository services and Treasury Management products
Reports credit risk issues in a timely manner
Business Development
Proactively reviews existing relationships for product penetration and calls on opportunities (loans, deposits, fees and non-credit products and services); issue proposals as appropriate
Identifies and refers business opportunities to internal product partners and other target market business lines
Increasingly seeks out referrals from existing customers and COI's
Qualifications:
Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree
Minimum Experience
Minimum of 4 years of experience in commercial lending as a credit analyst, portfolio manager, or relationship manager including managing the most complex customers such as C&I and/or CRE transactions
Minimum of 2 years of commercial portfolio management experience
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities
Advanced knowledge of financial lending regulations
Advanced knowledge of credit philosophy and policies as well as loan documentation
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, as well as analytic and problem solving skills
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook (e.g. create templates, complete mail merges, insert and edit charts, create basic formulas, create queries)
Ability to quickly make sense of, combine, and organize information into meaningful patterns
Ability to effectively plan, manage, and delegate to others

In accordance with Colorado law: Colorado pay for this position is anticipated to be between $85,000.00 - $161,000.00 annually, actual offers to be determined based on applicant's skills, experience and education.
