Title: Data Analyst 2

Location: Fort Collins, CO

Duration: 12+ months contract

Pay Range $22 to $26/hr.

We are looking for a “Data Analyst 2” to join one of our Fortune 500 clients.

Overview

Applies intermediate subject matter knowledge to solve a variety of common business issues. Works on problems of moderately complex scope. Acts as an informed team member providing analysis of information and limited project direction input. Exercises independent judgment within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action. Follows established guidelines and interprets policies. Evaluates unique circumstances and makes recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Team Collaboration:

  • Participate as a team member with other data science engineers in the investigation, design, development, execution, and implementation of data science projects to generate new insights, products, technologies, and intellectual property.

  • Project Execution:

  • Perform and execute data collection and analysis procedures and data insight visualizations for assigned projects in accordance with the plan.

  • Partnerships:

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to perform experiments and validations in line with the overall plan.

  • Data Handling:

  • Collect, record, and analyze data using established protocols and processes; communicate findings to other team members for review and feedback.

  • Documentation and Presentation:

  • Assist in literature review, prepare presentations for peer review, publication, and delivery at industry and scientific events and conferences; create patent applications and supporting documentation.

  • Scientific Methodologies:

  • Use scientific design and data collection methodologies, tools, and analysis packages to collect, validate, and analyze research data.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Technical Proficiency:

  • Understanding of design, scientific procedures and processes, and data analysis.

  • Communication:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.

  • Ability to effectively communicate research plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options.

  • Analytical Skills:

  • Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills.

Scope & Impact

  • Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with peers, junior data scientists and engineers, SMEs, and external and internal research and product development partners.

  • Typically partner with high-level Individual Contributors, Managers, and Program Core Teams.

  • Support:

  • Support projects requiring data science engineering.

Education & Experience

  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Physics, Computer Science, or equivalent.

  • Typically 2-4 years of experience, including graduate or postgraduate research.

Additional Responsibilities

Data Migration

  • Monitoring:

  • Monitor data migration throughout the project life cycle (development, testing, migration, Go live) ensuring smooth operation.

  • Collaboration:

  • Work with Business, IT, and Product Data Management to ensure successful data migration.

  • Data Quality:

  • Assess and ensure data quality; perform data cleansing and verification.

  • Risk Management:

  • Identify potential data risks and mitigate them with best practice strategies.

  • Issue Resolution:

  • Resolve data bottlenecks and bugs with the project team.

Business Users Training Documentation

  • Documentation Planning:

  • Work throughout the testing phase to plan and write training documentation.

  • Interfacing:

  • Interface with IT and business subject matter experts (SMEs) to write business process procedures.

  • Review and Delivery:

  • Review training documentation with business SMEs; deliver documentation with formatted content to match the publication in user-friendly language.
