U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Budget Analyst in Fort Eustis, Virginia

Summary About the Position: This position is located at the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Deputy Chief of Staff G-3/5/7 USA Security Assistance Training Field Activity (SATFA) Fort Eustis VA. Fort Eustis is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach.. Responsibilities Serve as a Senior Budget Analyst in the Security Assistance Training Field Activity (SATFA), Financial Management Division. Responsible for funding Continental United States (CONUS)/Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) training of international students under the Security Cooperation/Security Assistance Training Programs. Initiate and execute funding procedures in the Defense Security Assistance Management System (DSAMS). Advise management on the preparation and transactional flow of detailed financial activity. Review and validate funding requirements from Standardized Training Listings. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Manage and execute budgets and budget programs; 2) Prepare a variety of reports covering the status of funds, obligation, and expenses; 3) Develop, issue guidance and make policy interpretations for dissemination to subordinate activities affecting substantive worldwide programs; and 4) Develop cost factors, ratios, averages utilizing analytical techniques and forecasting methods. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Attention to Detail Concepts, Policies, and Principles of Budget Financial Management Oral Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
