Texas Health Resources Registered Nurse (RN) Med/surg General Surgical - Full Time Nights in Fort Worth, Texas

Fast-paced, high volume General Surgical department is looking for top skilled med/surg nurses for our unit. Is that you?

Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1304 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104

Work hours: Full-time, 36 hours weekly, 3-12 hours shifts, 7:00 pm – 7:00 am rotating weekends and holidays

Department highlights:

· 36-bed Med/surg General Surgical Unit

· The General Surgical Nurse provides care to a wide variety of post op patients including: complex gastro-intestinal and abdominal surgeries and plastics related wound care cases requiring ostomy, drain and wound vac management.

Here’s What You Need

  • Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or Diploma of Nursing required. BSN preferred

  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire

  • BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly

  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days of hire

  • 1-year experience as a registered nurse required or completion of an RN residency program

  • Previous Med/surg RN experience preferred

What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

  • assesses the patient

  • plans the care of the patient

  • intervenes as appropriate

  • evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.

  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
