Location/Division Specific Information

The Genetic Sciences Division (GSD) provides industry-leading genetic sciences tools and solutions to advance scientific discovery, enable customers in applied markets and improve global health outcomes. Specifically, GSD workflows enable biomarker discovery and analysis, predictive genomics, reproductive health solutions, pathogen detection, disease-specific solutions, forensics and human identification.​​​​​

The Life Sciences Group of Thermo Fisher Scientific currently has a vacancy for an expert Sales Specialist, with a background in Law Enforcement, Safety and Security or Forensics to drive growth of the HID business in Western Europe. This is an excellent opportunity for a high-reaching and sophisticated individual to join a global Life Sciences organization, at what is an exciting time of growth for the business in the assigned territory. Further develop and reinforce Forensic HID business (instruments, kits, and consumables) in designated area, with direct management of Key Accounts and indirect, through dealer and research sales organization. Develop business plan, mid and long-term objectives, pricing strategy and customer happiness goals for respective area and operate at a senior level in the customer organization.

A day in the Life:

  • Build specific regional strategy for market penetration and channel strategy

  • Build funnel of opportunities and deliver on revenue plans and forecast

  • Build specific country/account strategies to grow Rapid portfolio

  • Work closely with Thermo Fisher Governmental Relationships and Public Relationships teams to promote forensic DNA technologies, communicate the value of criminal DNA database policy and legislation and build plan around legislation expansion & acceptance of DNA technologies including Rapid

  • Keep close personal contact to appropriate levels of HID Rapid DNA Accounts, investigate their business needs and serve as main contact for entire organization with focus on law enforcement and security/military segments

  • Gathers, analyzes and delivers information from the field to allow the company to develop strategies and products appropriated to the Rapid DNA market

  • Interacts with executives, major customers, and other senior management to establish strategic plans and objectives that have a large impact on the company.

  • Collaborates with HID core team as well as product managers, R&D and marketing on building comprehensive forensic RDNA strategy.

  • Works along-side EMEA HID Account Managers to help manage HID Core Accounts with focus on Rapid DNA applications

  • Demonstrates/practices strategic selling excellence

  • Provide accurate forecast and lost order reporting as well as competitive information

  • Ensures that all necessary resources needed are used efficiently and effectively in order to increase business

Keys to Success:

  • Meaningful experience in Sales position and/or Key Account Management

  • Well organized individual with ability to establish short and long-term business objectives and have a consistent track record of measuring performance toward those objectives

  • Knowledge of Applied Biosystems Forensic HID technology workflows is helpful

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, ability to influence and work through networks, ability to handle business remotely

  • Frequent travel within assigned region is required

  • Excellent command of English language required.
