Located in Franklin, Massachusetts supporting the Chemical Analysis Division.

As the Sr. Manager, Engineering, take charge of driving manufacturing and process excellence. Your expertise in data analysis & continuous improvement will be instrumental in enhancing efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness. As a liaison between various departments, including R&D, manufacturing, validation, quality control, and regulatory, ensure seamless implementation of enhancements, product design changes, and new product introductions.

A day in the Life:

  • Lead the charge in optimizing our manufacturing processes, ensuring our facility operates at peak efficiency while reducing waste, improving performance, and increasing customer satisfaction.

  • Dive into the investigation of any deviations or adverse events, analyzing trends in our manufacturing process and addressing supplier-related failures.

  • Allocate resources strategically to support our manufacturing departments, guiding them in the fabrication, modification, and evaluation of prototypes that optimize cost, performance, and process capabilities.

  • Review and validate designs, ensuring that our test specifications and requirements are met.

  • Adopt automation opportunities and advocate for new equipment implementation. Identify and apply modifications to existing process equipment, fixtures, and tooling to enhance efficiency and productivity.

  • Collaborate with R&D and Sustaining Engineering teams, actively participating in the transfer and validation of new processes and improvements. Engage with our suppliers, both on-site and in development, handling test engineering resources and equipment.

  • Drive Practical Process Improvements (PPI) and Lean implementation initiatives, to continuously enhance our operational excellence.

  • Uphold manufacturing compliance with GMP and ISO requirements, ensuring our operations meet the highest industry standards.

  • Explore and develop Value Engineering initiatives across all our product lines, seeking opportunities to optimize costs.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 10 years of related experience or a commensurate level of experience and education.

Experience

  • Leadership and Team Management: Experience leading and developing teams of engineers and technicians, setting clear goals through effective communication and motivation.

  • Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement: Knowledge and experience in implementing lean manufacturing principles and driving CI initiatives to optimize production processes, reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance overall operational performance.

  • Project Management: Experienced in leading end-to-end complex projects, including project planning, resource allocation, timeline management, risk assessment, and partner coordination.

  • Manufacturing Process Optimization: Find opportunities for process optimization, including the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new technologies, equipment, and manufacturing methods to improve product quality, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.

  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Proficient in developing and implementing quality assurance programs, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements. Experienced in statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis, CAPA, and using quality tools/methodologies.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Knowledge of SPC, Design of Experiments and Lean Six-Sigma

  • Well-versed in IQ/OQ/PQ processes that involve regulatory approved product/process validations.

  • Expertise in people management, including skills in hiring, evaluating, and empowering team members.

  • Ability to lead exciting projects, handle scope, and prioritize business objectives efficiently.

  • Experience in ISO 9001 and collaborating with regulatory bodies.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

Walking, standing, and occasionally climbing stairs or ladders within the manufacturing facility, to address problems that arise, or offer guidance.
