Heartly House, Inc. Bilingual Child Counselor in FREDERICK, Maryland

BILINGUAL CHILD COUNSELOR

This is an exempt, full-time position (35 hours per week) that reports directly to the Clinical Services Director.This position requires written and oral fluency in English and Spanish andmayrequire off-site client work at any of the Frederick County Public School locations. The salary for this position is $36.38/hour.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Provide weekly individual counseling sessions to children who are victims of (or have witnessed) intimate partner violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and/or child abuse
  • Provide weekly group counseling sessions for children who are victims of (or have witnessed) intimate partner violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and/or child abuse
  • Build and maintain relationships with Frederick County Public School personnel to support client needs
  • Participate in clinical review of cases and present cases for review during team meetings
  • Participate in the planning, development, delivery, expansion, and evaluation of counseling services
  • Maintain professional standards of conduct and practices in all aspects of direct client services
  • Provide input into the counseling department strategic and operational plan
  • Be available as needed for consultation with other departments regarding clients
  • Provide appropriate referrals to clients to obtain additional needed services
  • Ensure client records are up-to-date, complete, and accurately filed, and are closed, as needed
  • Ensure client records are maintained in complete confidentiality and protection of client rights
  • Understand and commit to the mission, values, and philosophy of Heartly House and the efforts to end intimate partner violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and child abuse
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Clinical Services Director

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Masters Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or PhD in Clinical Psychology with Maryland licensure in good standing, with preference given to licensure at the independent clinical level
  • English and Spanish fluency isrequired
  • Preferred minimum of two years experience working therapeutically with children and families
  • Strong clinical background and skills, including individual and group facilitation skills
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Ability to effectively use computers, including Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and database software
  • Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and priority setting ability
  • Expertise in intimate partner violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and/or child abuse preferred
  • Successful completion of Heartly Houses agency onboarding training within probationary period
