Summary The Sensor Science Division is actively recruiting for a Administrative Support Assistant (OA) to provide a broad range of administrative tasks utilizing various administrative systems to support the Division. Responsibilities Welcome to the Sensor Science Division (SSD) in NIST's Physical Measurement Laboratory! Our Mission is to foster the next generation of SI-traceable dimensional, thermodynamic, and optical radiation measurements and their application by providing calibrations, standards, and innovations that improve U.S. industrial competitiveness and quality-of-life. As a new Administrative Support Assistant (OA) on our team, you will: Perform Group secretarial duties within the Division within set deadlines. Manage clerical functions of the office such as prepares travel documents, initiates procurement request, processes bankcard orders, NAIS agreements for foreign and domestic guest researchers including onboarding process, prepares shipping orders, reviews time and attendance, completes bankcard statements and maintains requisition logs. Provide administrative support to division staff and associates. Provide administrative support in accordance to well established organization procedures resulting minimal need of supervision. Serve as the timekeeper, bankcard holder, travel and NAIS initiator according to established procedures and deadlines. Provide administrative support that enables technical staff carry out the NIST mission in supporting the US commerce. Provide administrative support to division staff and associates. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify for this position: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-4 grade level (ZS-II at NIST). Specialized Experience is defined as experience providing a variety of administrative support activities utilizing automated electronic and computer systems. OR 4 years of education above high school OR A combination of education and experience Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done. We will credit all qualifying volunteer experience in your application.
