JOB REQUIREMENTS: We are seeking an Underground Miner to join our team in Clayton, Iowa. This person will work in our underground mine and be involved in all aspects of raw sand material extraction. Underground miners use a variety of specialized pieces of equipment to remove material from underground and deliver it to our crushing line operation. We train our employees to help ensure procedures and work standards are followed, and that those around them clearly understand them. They are required to comply with company, local, state, and federal compliance & safety rules. Primary Responsibilities: Participate in drilling and blasting Scale rock faces of the mine both by hand and mechanically Operate jacklegs and stopper drills Operate underground mining equipment in production and support activities Participate in mine maintenance and clean-up Ensure procedures and work standards for all tasks are understood, adhered to and complied with at all times. Must watch out for others at all times Ensure that all equipment is safe to operate and is well maintained by completing the proper inspection paperwork Communicate and coordinate with coworkers and supervisors ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Must have the ability to: Physically operate heavy equipment Proficiently speak and write English Stand for 6-12 hours on uneven sandy/rocky surfaces and bend or stoop Work up to 12-hour shifts Climb on and off equipment and ladders Work at heights Wear a half-mask respirator for up to 12 hours at a time Lift 60 to 80 pounds without mechanical assistance Work in a team environment ***** APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Apply Online: www.pattisoncompany.com/careers
