Job Title: Process Engineer

Summary:The Process Engineer has overall accountability for managing the site process and productivity details to optimize efficiency and product cost, quality, capacity utilization, and operability of production processes. This position is also accountable for CAPEX projects.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Serves as the process expert for all manufacturing processes on-site and leads in the troubleshooting of chemistry, technology, and quality-related issues, interfacing with global teams as necessary

  • Establishes/executes/maintains gap analysis of continuous improvement processes

  • Works with various functions to identify and transfer processes/products into the site to balance global capacity utilization

  • Ensures compliance with standards for EHS, cost control, waste reduction, quality

  • Provides effective leadership and execution tools to deliver both VCP (cost reduction/productivity) and capital projects

  • Recommends modifications or additions that will address projects for operational improvements

  • Identifies process safety reactivity evaluations, process training, and operating procedures

  • Directs activities so that approved products and projects are introduced on time

  • Ensures new production processes are implemented in compliance with environmental and process safety regulations and Momentive policies and standards

  • Ensures proper documentation for the site (e.g. permits on file, MOC process)

  • Supports significant processing issues and incidents where chemical formulations are involved

  • Communicate to the site and Senior Leadership team as required

  • Coordinates change management activities at the site

  • Provides critical support to the site leadership in the cultural journeys of EHS, Quality, Customer Focus, and Continuous Improvement

  • Embraces continuous improvement philosophies and tools to engage employees

  • Maintains excellent support

  • Performs additional job duties, as assigned

  • Drives visual operation performance metrics to the shop floor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, climb, twist, turn, grasp, and move about the facility. Walking, walking on irregular surfaces, and balancing will be required. Hearing, sight to include depth perception and color vision, and the ability to speak clearly will be required. Occasional lifting and moving up to 50 lbs. and the ability to comply with PPE requirements (ability to pass a fit-test and wear a respirator is required for certain positions/locations).

The environment for this position is a Manufacturing setting, with exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noise. Candidates should be able to adapt to a traditional business environment. Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering

  • 3+ years experience in process engineering

  • Strong change management skills and ability to influence

The following are preferred for the role:

  • Background in the manufacturing industry and multi-national company

  • Six Sigma/LEAN certification

  • Previous team leader experience in a chemical process environment

  • Proficiency in SAP

  • Experience in Maintenance Excellence

  • Controls Engineering-HMI/PLC design and programming

What We Offer:Base Pay Range: $88,000.00 - $129,250.00

The actua l salary offered i s determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, skill set s, and geography. Local geographic pay differentials may not be reflected in the above pay range and will be discussed with you by a member of the HR team when applicable . Additionally, this role is eligible for incentive or sales variable compensation payments. The amount of these incentives is based on the terms of the Company's incentive plans, the Company's financial performance, and/or individual employee job performance.
