Exciting Opportunity for a Project Engineer

Embark on an exciting career journey as a Project Engineer with us, where you'll take charge of overseeing special projects from the moment they are handed over from sales until the final payment is received. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring these projects are executed with precision, adhering to strict safety protocols, staying within budget, meeting deadlines, and upholding the highest quality standards. As the primary point of contact for our customers, you'll proactively engage with them, fostering positive relationships and ensuring their needs are met at every stage. You’ll play a crucial role in providing accurate and timely reports on project forecasts, schedules, finances, and risks during periodic project reviews, enabling informed decision-making by management.

What will you do?

  • Manage special bare shaft projects from handover to completion of delivery and receipt of final payment.

  • Interact with the sales managers to support timely, accurate and fully detailed handovers of new projects.

  • Book projects in the MRP system ensuring accurate forecasting of deliveries and invoicing.

  • Create Project Datasheet which accurately captures all project requirements.

  • Load projects into the document control system ensuring appropriate document requirement dates are specified. Ensure documentation schedule remains on time.

  • Work with Project Coordinator to manage project schedule, specifically managing any deviation from the baseline by establishing priorities and driving recovery to baseline.

  • Understand and manage project budget and accurately forecast costs and cashflow. Quickly identify and manage deviation from budget. Drive margin growth.

What do you bring?

To be successful you must have …

  • Prior experience of managing projects or close involvement in management of projects in a manufacturing environment.

  • Commercial acumen / experience in dealing with customers and contracts.

  • Confidence and experience to pro-actively solve problems, think laterally and identify corrective actions.

  • Examples of leadership, negotiation, ability to influence and inter-personal skills – internal and customer facing.

  • Experience of successfully driving to meet required time, cost and quality baseline.

  • Ability to work independently and at pace.

  • Confidence and experience to pro-actively lead issue resolution.

It’s a bonus if you have

  • Computer literacy in Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Project or equivalent scheduling software.

  • Excellent Time Management Skills

  • Excellent Communications skills (Written and Oral)
