Summary:
Prepare hospital
leaders/teammates for surveys and the accreditation process through mock
surveys, focused tracers, articles, computerized learning modules, newsletters,
presentations, accreditation website, and consultations with clinicians and
departments in behavioral health settings at UNC Health.
Responsibilities:
Facilitate the interpretation of the Joint Commission Standards, Center for Medicare and Medicaid regulations, DHHS, Health Department, DEA standards, and any other required regulatory agency standards (hereto referred to as standards and regulations) with/for organization's leadership team.
Ensure organizational readiness and the ongoing compliance with the ever changing standards and regulations across behavioral health units within UNC Health.
Report the status of hospital-wide standards compliance to organizational leaders including the development and monitoring of audits and other data metrics.
Develop and provide educational training/support to organization teammates.
Keep behavioral health teammates up-to-date on the most current standards and regulations to ensure these standards are consistently met.
Lead and manage all regulatory surveys initiated in the behavioral health setting effectively. Prepare and coordinate written responses to surveys, plans of correction, as needed.
Participate in the Patient Safety Team and root cause analysis of patient safety/sentinel events. Create/assist with action planning to prevent these events in the future.
Maintain extensive knowledge of the most current accreditation, certification, and licensure requirements and standards, independent judgement, decision making, data collection, validation and analysis techniques, Quality Improvement concepts and tools, risk management, operational policies and patient safety and care standards.
Responsible for all standards, regulations, and licensing application and renewal processing, staying abreast of expiration dates and associated fees.
Collaborates and develops standard work with cross-functional disciplines and departments to identify and develop plans to mitigate risks related to environment of care, life safety, care treatment, plans of care, and medication management.

Education Requirements:
● Requires Bachelor’s degree.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Requires clinical licensure (RN, LCSW, OT, PT, etc.)
Professional Experience Requirements:
● Four (4) years of experience in administration or patient care in a hospital setting.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
● Understands and applies principles, procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to specialized expertise.
● Position requires strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience with Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems desired.
