SCL Health Registered Nurse Program Coordinator Bariatric Clinic in Grand Junction, Colorado

Job Description:The RN Program Coordinator, Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (MBS) is responsible for the coordination of efficient, safe, and timely patient care to patients receiving bariatric and weight management services. The Coordinator actively participates in the development and implementation of goals, strategies, and tactics to support the continued growth and success of the Bariatric Surgery and Obesity Medicine programs. The Coordinator assists in the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) accreditation process and ensures continuous compliance with MBSAQIP requirements. The Coordinator serves as the designated MBS Program Coordinator for purposes of MBSAQIP accreditation.

SCOPE: Serves as a coordinator for assigned program. Discusses program with physicians and nurses and concurrently reviews that all care meets evidence-based guidelines. Provides education to patients and family members during the hospital stay and serves as a resource and contact for patients and their families after they are discharged. Actively participates in patient care rounds. Collaborates with theMedical Director and Clinic Managerto oversee and ensure that the program meets the regulatory requirements. Performs chart reviews and collects data. Performs analysis of this data for performance improvement activity, planning and evaluation within the program. Manages accreditation criteria to ensure clinic meets expectation set forth by governing agencies. Maintains and ensures compliance of all policies and procedures that guide and support the assigned services. Collaborates with the Medical Director to develop and implement evidence-based policies and standards into existing framework. Assesses plans, develops, implements and evaluates activities that promote professional development and continuing competence of care site providers and students. Maintains and/or analyzes data collected on assigned program. Serves as the subject matter expert for the program. Creates and maintains a Quality Assurance program. Contributes to and supports Bariatric program staff and educators through planning, implementing and evaluation educational efforts and learning methods. Maintains knowledge of the preoperative, perioperative and postoperative processes (pathways, protocols and all elements associated with the coordination of patient care). Actively participates/coordinates committees, task forces and work groups as needed/requested. Assists in the surgical work-up and follow-through of surgical patients. Knowledge of the quality improvement project goals that support patient outcomes and their association with coordination of care. Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by service behavior standards. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Bachelors Degree in Nursing is required Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of CO required Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) Three years relevant RN experience is required

Preferred Master's degree in Nursing is preferred Experience in Program Coordination Experience in Patient Education Experience in a Surgical Specialty

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.$31.28 - $55.57
