Lockheed Martin Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) - Grand Prairie, TX in Grand Prairie, Texas

Description: Join our Lockheed Martin, Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) team as we are pioneers of high-performance air and missile defense, air-to-air, precision fires, close combat, sustainment, sensors, strike system and energy storage solutions to provide our war fighting and civilian customers the products and services they need in their defining moments.

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) for a position based in Dallas, TX. The position will require working flexible hours and travel out of the assigned geographical area to support suppliers across the United States and possibly some international suppliers.

Duties include:

Performance at suppliers of scheduled product source inspections, first article inspections, and product line validations as outlined by AS9102 and applicable company and industry standards.

Provide internal and supplier support for root cause and corrective/preventive actions tied to Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs).

Support Supplier requests tied to program requirements, interface with customer needs and program management activities.

Participate (as required) in supplier's failure / diagnosis and Material Review Board (MRB) activities.

Perform on-going surveillance of supplier's conformance to Lockheed Martin requirement documents and provide written weekly reports.

Provide technical liaison support related to quality engineering matters.

Ensure supplier contract flow-down requirements are implemented and verified and interfaces with supplier on a daily basis.

Basic Qualifications:

Technical Engineering degree

Must have ability to obtain a security clearance

Must be able to identify and document supplier's quality deficiencies and ensure effective corrective action.

Capable of performing root cause analysis and identifying solutions to complex problems.

Understanding engineering drawings requirements mechanical and electrical inspection methods.

A basic understanding of special processes and an overall understanding of how to manage and interface with suppliers on a daily bases to support the program.

Ability to focus on continual improvement practices using causal analysis tools to drive corrective and preventive actions.

Must have knowledge and understanding of critical design attributes and auditing / surveying capabilities.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment

Must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines and to support all supplier quality field engineering activities.

Strong communication skills (both oral and written) will be necessary to support the assignment and weekly reports.

Must be able to effectively communicate and interface with Suppliers, Quality Program Management, Engineering, Supplier Quality Management, Sub-contracts (Buyers) and Government Representatives.

Desired Skills:

A basic understanding of the MFC SAP and Procure to Pay (P2P) business systems.

ASQ Certification or Lean Six Sigma Certification

Experience with working with suppliers in a dynamic environment.

Experience with performing First Article Inspections (FAIs) to AS9102 requirements.

Experience with source inspection and surveillance activities at suppliers.

Understanding in AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
