Oxygen Therapy gives you extra oxygen to breathe in. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a special type of oxygen therapy. During HBOT, you breathe 100% oxygen while relaxing in a pressurized chamber. The Hyperbaric Medicine Program at Corewell Health is accredited with distinction by the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS). About Outpatient Clinics

Scope of work

Function as an equal and active member of the hyperbaric technician team, running chambers/providing patient care. Responsible for the quality and safety of the administration of hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients. Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the hyperbaric/hypobaric chambers and related equipment. Participates in quality improvement activities and patient experience initiatives. Performs hyperbaric chamber operations, cleaning and maintenance as required. Weekly call requirements and medical examination required for clearance to function as an interior chamber attendant. Provides Wound Healing Program assistance within scope of practice, as determined by staffing needs.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of approved paramedic program

  • Skills, knowledge, abilities typically gained through less than 2 years of experience as a paramedic, 3 years or more preferred

  • Successful completion of competency-based orientation program which includes a 40 hour Hyperbaric course to be completed through the department and certification within 2 years of date of hire

  • Licensed Paramedic - State of Michigan Required upon hire

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) 90 Days Required
