Corewell Health Senior Financial Analyst in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Job Summary Utilizing financial and data analysis skills to support the Medical Group Financial Planning and Analysis team and service lines. The senior analysts on our team provide support to service line(s), assisting with financial and capital planning, analyzing financial statements and reports, developing scenario analysis, and providing education and support to multiple levels of operational and provider leadership.

Essential Functions

  • Serves as a consultant to assigned areas of the organization to support the financial goals and objectives of Corewell Health.

· Performs statistical, cost, and financial variance analysis of data to evaluate financial performance and identify improvement opportunities.

  • Provides guidance on business issues including financial and profitability analysis. Develops solutions to problems of unusual complexity, which require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovations

  • Prepare monthly and trend reports for tracking financial and operational metrics

  • Present financial information and analysis to operational and physician leadership

  • Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts

  • Collaborate with other areas of the organization on strategic and systemwide projects.

  • May perform some month-end close accounting responsibilities with a focus on the Medical Group and specific service lines. These duties include, but are not limited to preparing journal entries, analyzing general ledger activity, and compiling reports.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree Accounting, finance, business administration, economics, statistics or related field Administration, Economics, Statistics or related field

  • 3 years of relevant experience in Finance, Accounting, or related work

Preferred

  • Master's Degree in Business or Finance

  • Formal or informal leadership experience

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - State of Michigan

  • Comfort dealing with ambiguity and the ability to work independently

  • Experience working with and presenting to leaders

  • Problem Solving

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel

  • Additional familiarity with data query/data management tools is extremely helpful (Access, SQL, Business Objects, PowerBI, Python)
